As Canada embraces new, electrified mobility options, our legislation and consumer protections remain trapped in the past. While the convenience of e-bikes is undeniable, the hidden danger lurking within their lithium-ion batteries is reaching a critical tipping point.

The Rapid Escalation of a Public Safety Threat

  • Targeted Education: Massive public awareness campaigns to teach residents about safe charging.

The results speak for themselves. In 2024, the number of deaths dropped to six. By 2025, there was only one fatality, and only one has been recorded so far in 2026. PopWheels offers a smart locker system similar to parcel lockers.
